Parish Council 4th November
The transfer of the Railway Embankment has been signed by the Council and now awaits confirmation that completion has taken place. The Conservation Volunteers are being contacted over the possible options for help with its maintenance.
The Chairman reported on a meeting with the new owners of Knowle Hall. The Chinese School currently based in Chedzoy will eventually cater for 100 students. This is unlikely to be operational until after September 2015.
The discussions over the siting of a possible Play area are continuing.
A grant to the Mendip Community Transport was agreed.
County Councillor David Hall outlined the reasons for the further delay in the operation of super fast broadband for the Village. The website is showing the wrong date and it should be operating by this December. He also mentioned the completion of the dredging works on the River Parrett and the forthcoming discussion over the Budget for 2015-16.
District Councillor Derek Alder spoke about the ongoing difficulties in balancing the finances in the forthcoming budget in Sedgemoor.
Bawdrip History Group
A very enjoyable and infomative evening was held with The Edington and District History Group in the Old School Room. The next meeting will be at the Parish Hall on Thursday 20 November at 7.30pm.
The second opening in October was another success with more attending this Social occasion. The next opening in on Saturday 22 November from 10 til noon. You are encouraged to come and have a friendly cuppa!
