Communication with Village Residents
The Parish Council at it’s February meeting considered how it’s approach to keeping villagers informed on areas of local interest including Council matters and services could be improved with the aim of promoting more input.
A key objective of the Council is to widen contact with the local community and with an election in May 2015 it is timely to seek more interest in an active way and encourage residents to be more involved and stand as potential councillors.
The Council agreed to make Council information, minutes and agenda available as early as possible.
To publish a village newsletter informing residents about the Council’s work and plans as well as items of local interest. This to be a printed version as well as online and will also encourage further use of the village website and social media as a means of accessing up to date information. A short survey for residents give their likes and dislikes about Bawdrip will be included. The Council agreed to cover costs of printing and development of this.
An information Pack for New Residents will also be developed to welcome them to Bawdrip.
Richard Culverhouse agreed to draft the material for the above and seek input from others for the ongoing work of helping to create and distribute the newsletters.
