Christmas celebrations in Bawdrip
Christmas might seem a long time ago but it is good to reflect on the celebrations throughout the village even though we are nearly in February!
December started with Santa making an early visit to the village. Travelling round in the veteran Morris 1000 stopping outside many of the houses he alerted everyone to the Christmas Fair in the Parish Hall.
This opened at 2pm and visitors were welcomed in to the aroma of mulled cider. The stalls were ready and did brisk business. As last year the Bawdrip Ladies ran a stall and together the total raised for church funds was a little over £600 with an additional £80 to go to a cause chosen by the Ladies.
The lighting of the Christmas Tree on the Village Green was the next event. This well attended event saw many families attending as Father Christmas made another visit to the village! Once the lights were illuminated (on the second attempt!) everyone moved to the church for welcome refreshments including mulled wine.
Thanks to the Community Café for funding the Christmas Tree Event.
