Easter is a very special time in the life of the church. We all joined together as a Benefice at the Palm Sunday service held here in Bawdrip Church. The service was preceded with a procession accompanied by a pony from the Parish Hall, around the centre of the village and into the church. Ebony was very well behaved and happily stepped down into the main body of the church whilst the first hymn was sung and then processed up to the alter and out through the door by the altar!
During Holy week there were services twice a day every day throughout the week. On Good Friday, after all the hot cross buns had been eaten, there was a workshop held in Woolavington. A very moving service was then held in Bawdrip at 2pm, marking the final hour.
Then on Saturday morning the ladies of the Flower Guild transformed the church with their amazing decorations of lilies and other flowers – after the long 40 days of Lent when there are no flowers in the church it is always wonderful on Easter Sunday Morning to have the church brought back to life and filled with colour and scent
