STAWELL CLAY SHOOTING CLUB
Held their second annual fund raising shoot on Saturday 29th August. With the sun shining it was very well attended by both shooters and spectators. The location was in the parks behind the Walled Garden on Puriton Hill. It was a simulated driven shoot. 160 clay's per team of five guns. The targets coming out over the trees at random with the guns in a line, rapid reloading was a must. Eight teams took part with the winning team hitting 113 followed by 110 and 106. The winning team receiving a case of beer each generously donated by Butcome Brewery.
Following the shoot, a BBQ was held at the Knowle Inn. A time to relax and continue with the banter. Byron and Kyle as pessimists, insisted on providing their big tent to keep us out of the rain. Thank you both for providing the shade.
As a result £200.00 was raised for Bawdrip Parish Hall.
Thanks must go to Carol Hudson and Jerry Stone. Land owner and farmer respectively. Richard Miles and Tony for the car parking and Toby for the use of his pub car park and BBQ.
