Cream Teas on the Green
We were so lucky with the summer weather – having decided that we needed to move the cream Teas back from July to June we had fingers crossed hoping for a sunny day. Well the sun really did shine and the marquee came into use as a sunshade! Fortunately, there were a few other sunshades and the trees at the edge of the green provided some protection from what could only be described as a ‘scorcher! All the helpers worked really hard in the heat to get the teas served as quickly as possible.
With a wonderful array of cakes to choose from it was difficult to decide which to go for. As well as a table filled with raffle prizes the bric-a-brac stall also did well with many bargains to be had.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to help put up and clear away, to all those who baked and served the teas, to those who kindly brought along prizes for the raffle and of course to everyone who turned out to support the event. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we managed to raise just over £475 which will go towards the running costs of the church building.
