Parish Council Annual Meeting April 2013
- Report of the Chairman
Roger Williams thanked his fellow Parish Councillors for their work over the last year. He thanked both David Hall and Nobby Turner for the work that they had undertaken on behalf of the Parish and for their assistance with matters brought to the Parish Councils attention. He then paid compliments to Summerfield Developments Ltd, who is currently developing the Shaw’s Orchard site.
This is on schedule to be completed by the middle of August 2013. Following the sale of the last property the space for the play area will be transferred to the Parish Council. It was highlighted that the contractors on site have been very amicable and have caused very little disruption to local residents
The Parish Council have of course dealt and commented on numerous planning applications throughout the year. A recent one being the pig farm and details of how to alert the District Council of any concerns regarding any problem smell from this development are now displayed on the Parish Council notice board. Thanks were given in his absence to Graham Jarvis who even with his eye operations through the last year has continued to support and dedicate a lot of his time to Bawdrip Parish Council.
Public Discussion and Question Time:
Concerns over highway maintenance were raised, specifically a raised man-hole cover near the Parish Hall, bank slipping on Bradney Lane and hedge near Stone Drove – natural traffic calmer or visibility obstruction?
